Z-man and I hit Hashawa in Westminster to get some extra mountain bike mileage in our legs and we had hoped to get some orienteering as well. Mountain bike - check, O-course - nada. The nature center attendant told me that there wasn't an o-course, but their website said that they did. About a half mile into the ride - low and behold - an o-course control. Damn! Well, no map, no o-coursing.
After about 8-10 miles, Z-man and I decided to get a couple running miles under the belt, which is a good thing, because my pants kept dropping - note to self: wear belt. We had some good discussions around possible race strategy and nutrition planning.
After Hash, we headed to our second home, REI, to pick up some last minute items and then noshed at Noodles & Co. Back at race headquarters, we finalized our nutrition plan which seems like it will consist of liquids and gels with a dabble of solid foods mixed in the bag...PB&J fo' me.
I am getting so amped up for this race...it's ri-donk-ulous.
Giro: No real change of note. Waiting until Tuesday when they hit the real mountain stages and riders begin to implode.
